Music Ministry
At Second Baptist Church, we believe that music should be an integral part of our worship services. Every service includes robust congregational singing of psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Our music is directed to the Lord and to God's people for the purpose of encouragement and edification.
We have a Children's choir which rehearses every Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. , a teen choir which rehearses at 6:40 p.m. on Wednesdays and sings at the beginning of our prayer meeting, and an adult church choir which rehearses every Sunday evening at 5:30 p.m. and sings during our Sunday morning and evening worship services.
Offertories are performed by our pianists and organists, with an occasional song performed by other instrumentalists.
Our church orchestra is open to woodwind, brass and strings players, and accompanies our congregational singing on Sundays.
Every service also includes a special number performed by a soloist or special group, such as a duet, trio, quartet or other ensemble, such as our teen ensemble or ladies group.
